Portalcraft is a series of maps based on the worlds of Portal and Minecraft. The goal of Portalcraft is to provide Minecraft players with a fun and challenging Portal experience. In fact, the map’s creator, Maxargan, suggests that players become experienced with Portalcraft (the mod) before checking out the Portalcraft map.
In other words, Portalcraft isn’t the easiest map to play through, and players should become familiar with the Portalcraft mod before even attempting to make it through the challenges of the Portalcraft map.
Just like in the Portal games, the Portalcraft map begins when players wake up in a testing chamber. Instead of the character being a girl, this time, the character is named Steve. Players must navigate through the blocky world in order to solve all sorts of new and challenging puzzles.
The Portalcraft map takes place after the end of Portal 2. That doesn’t have an effect on the storyline, and players can enjoy Portalcraft without having played any Portal games in the past.
After months of work, the Portalcraft map now includes 12 chapters with 20 completed test chambers. Chapters 5 through 12 are still works in progress, although the first four chapters have been fully completed.
Here are the rules players must follow in order to get the most out of the Portalcraft map:
-Don’t destroy any blocks
-Don’t place any blocks
-“Don’t do stupid things and have fun”
The Portalcraft map features good production value. Instead of just tossing players into a world that resembles Portal, the map’s creator has spent time adding in authentic Portal voices and other effects in order to fully immerse players in the world.
The Portalcraft map completely changes the Minecraft world in many different ways. As a result, it requires several different mods in order to run properly, including Ichun’s Portal Gun Mod, Wireless Redstone Mod, Portal 2 Gels Mod, and plenty of others.
Best of all, the Portalcraft map comes with an installer that instantly installs all mods, texture packs, and maps that players require. Without the automatic installer, the installation process would likely take hours. So if you’re looking for an easy way to test out Portal technology in the Minecraft world, then Portalcraft will keep you entertained. Download it today!
